McHenry Sportsman’s Club Newsletter (March 2009)
FINANCIAL STATUS - March was a difficult month.
We lost 3½ weekend days out of 9 due to rain, wind, and snow.
Major expenses for the month: $8,450 for a new Pat-Trap with wobble option, lease payment of $1,500.
TRAP OPERATIONS - Total rounds for the month were 1,153 which was pretty good considering the weather problems.
Target costs were $2,289 in March.
- The Remington in Trap #1 was removed to the garage and the Pat-Trap from #3 moved in.
Dave Ennis spent a Saturday morning with Harvey Scharlau and Gary Lottinville going over the trap.
There were no earth shaking results, just some minor adjustments.
Harvey and George Strode shimmed the trap to get it to throw targets low enough.
The trap house is quite a bit lower in the back than in the front.
- The trap in #2 is breaking targets.
The elevator appears to be out of time.
The trap house needs to be leveled.
- The new Pat Trap was picked up on March 25th by Tom McCue and Chuck Sandlin.
It was checked out and installed in Trap #3 on Saturday, March 27th by Mike Lunebach, and Greg Timm.
We ran it all day on Sunday and it ran well.
Mike Lunebach and Butch Ackerman installed levelers so we can get the trap exactly right.
- We broke the pump belt in Trap #5 on March 29th.
Gary and Harvey replaced it that day and it is running properly.
PROJECTS - The Club sign by the entrance was painted by Mick Schacht.
- Trap house #3 was leveled by Roger Schad and Matt Wood.
- The new trap was installed by Mike Lunebach, Greg Timm and others.
- The trap in #3 was moved to #1 by Harvey, Gary, and others.
- We replaced the front tires on the target tractor due to them being rotten.
CLUB PATCHES - the new 3½" club patches are in and may be purchased for $5 at the counter.
SUMMER - operating hours are 11AM-5PM.
MEMBERSHIPS - 203 at the end of March..
